This exhibition presents scenarios for the future development of the historical gold mining suburb of Golden Square. The work responds to such local conditions as the concreted drain of Bendigo Creek and ephemeral tributaries, hilly topography, neglected gullies and wide street verges. Drawings and models of diverse and novel infill housing types connect landscapes that retain water in this dry, disrupted environment and repair the patchwork of ex-mining sites. Proposals for corridors and multi-use zones thicken and enliven the neighbourhood centre. Analytical drawings and models explore the regional water context at the scale of the Murray Darling Basin.
