For Designwork 04, Sophie Gannon Gallery presents Open Garden, a collaboration by Dale Hardiman and Stephen Royce exploring light through common handheld devices, and Chromatic Fantastic, a collection of new furniture and lighting works by Danielle Brustman.

Constructed from over 200 mobile phone LCD screens, Hardiman and Royce’s Open Garden explores the reanimation of discarded technology and our disassociation from devices that are increasingly becoming more ingrained within our lives.

In Chromatic Fantastic, Brustman proposes new modes of living, with furniture, lighting and objects that acknowledge how good design can respond to human needs. Experimenting with ideas, materials and processes, Brustman’s works consider spatial experience and how our environment impacts on our experience of life.
