Be among the first school groups to catch a glimpse of NGV’s colourful and immersive exhibition Yayoi Kusama. Presented by NGV Educators, this free virtual program will introduce students to the dynamic and creative life and work of Yayoi Kusama, including some of the iconic works and exciting experiences in the exhibition. Students will also be invited to participate in guided drawing activities inspired by the themes and motifs in Kusama’s iconic artworks.

Students participating in this program will need:

  • Two sheets of plain drawing paper
  • Colour pencils
  • A pencil sharpener and eraser (optional)

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn about the presentation of key artworks in NGV’s exhibition, Yayoi Kusama
  • Identify key elements and motifs in a range of Kusama’s artworks including the use of colour, form, pattern and symbol
  • Create unique drawings in response to iconic works on display in the exhibition
