The Kultur-All Makaan presents a cultural ideal of an arts institution, one that is open, evocative, democratic, and generous, inviting connection and reflection. Devised in collaboration with Hazara, South Sudanese, Karen, and Anglo-Saxon artists and artisans, Kultur in several northern European languages means ‘culture’ and Makaan in different Persian and African languages means the dwelling of… also ‘food’ in Indonesian. As such, the Kultur-All Makaan is a place of daily cultural and artistic nourishment with and for all.
