Pharaoh and Africa Fashion are opening late just for NGV Members and their guests for an exclusive after-hours viewing.

Pharaoh
The NGV partners with the British Museum to present the Melbourne Winter Masterpieces® 2024 exhibition Pharaoh, a landmark exhibition that celebrates three thousand years of ancient Egyptian art and culture. Through more than 500 objects, including monumental sculpture, architecture, temple statuary, exquisite jewellery, papyri, coffins and a rich array of funerary objects, the exhibition will unpack the phenomenon of the Pharaoh, those all-powerful kings claiming a divine origin.

Africa Fashion
Developed by the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, and presented in partnership with the NGV, Africa Fashion celebrates the creativity, ingenuity, and global impact of contemporary African fashions from the mid-twentieth century to the present day.  Featuring over 200 works – spanning fashion, textiles, adornment, photography, music and film – the exhibition illuminates a thriving fashion scene as dynamic and varied as the continent itself.
