Frank Lloyd Wright is one of the most significant architect-designers of the twentieth century. For fourteen years Marion Mahony (later Marion Mahony Griffin) worked in Wright’s Chicago office and was deeply influenced by his Prairie School aesthetic. Ultimately though, it was the principles of Japanese design that profoundly influenced both their design approaches and had a lasting impact upon their careers.

In an exclusive presentation for NGV Members and guests, learn from NGV Senior Curator Amanda Dunsmore about the seminal influence these two architect-designers had on modernism in the first half of the twentieth century, introducing a selection of new acquisitions now on display at NGV International.
