Modernism evolves through music as musicians from the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO) alongside members of the MSO Academy perform a program curated in response to the 2023 Melbourne Winter Masterpieces exhibition Pierre Bonnard: Designed by India Mahdavi.
Under the iconic stained-glass ceiling of the NGV’s Great Hall, this exclusive after-hours concert features a repertoire that explores the new artistic and musical vocabularies which developed in 20th century France, and the world-premiere of a new work commissioned in response to Pierre Bonnard by MSO Young Composer in Residence, Melissa Douglas.
The evening will commence with an opportunity to view Pierre Bonnard: Designed by India Mahdavi before the concert.
