French painter Françoise Gilot is well-known for her decade long relationship with Pablo Picasso from 1943 to 1953. Similarly, French painter, photographer and poet Dora Maar is most often referenced as Picasso’s muse during the 1930s.

Through a close study of three works by Gilot and Maar recently acquired for the NGV Collection, learn about the extraordinary lives of these women and the way they forged artistic careers for themselves in a male dominated art world.

This talk will be delivered online. Ten minutes before the start time you can access the event here: https://www.ngv.vic.gov.au/whats-on/programs-events/francoise-gilot-dora-maar/
