Taking residence the first three weeks of Friday Nights is acclaimed composer, oud virtuoso and eight-time ARIA Award winner Joseph Tawadros. Joseph will be performing a selection of his original oud works in dispersed with some extended Taqasim (modal improvisations). You will also hear pieces from his 2023 ARIA award winning album ‘To Those Who Came Before Us’ showcasing the flexibility of the oud in a modern context while maintaining his ancestral bond with this Ancient instrument.

Acclaimed composer, oud virtuoso and eight-time ARIA Award winner Joseph Tawadros performs original compositions that seamlessly blend Arabic modes with Western classical, jazz, world, folk – even metal and bluegrass.

Melbourne Winter Masterpieces®: Pharaoh, traverses three thousand years of art and culture and more than 500 objects, including monumental sculpture, architecture, temples, jewellery, coffins and more. This exhibition celebrates the phenomenon of pharaoh, those all-powerful kings claiming a divine origin.
