To celebrate the opening of Reimagining Birrarung, speakers from the exhibiting studios; Aspect Studios, REALMstudios, Openwork, Bush Projects, TCL, Office and McGregor Coxall, introduce their speculations on the future of Melbourne’s river towards 2070.
Hosted by NGV curator Gemma Savio, hear how knowledge systems, climate change, policy, emerging technologies, and design might influence or enhance our relationship with Birrarung over the next five decades.
This program is presented in partnership with Bupa, Principal Partner of Reimagining Birrarung. During September, NGV and Bupa will co-present a series of programs alongside the exhibition, designed to get people out and about by moving their bodies in local surroundings while reaping the benefits of improved physical and mental health. This coincides with Bupa’s Healthy Cities Challenge, encouraging people to take 6,000 or more steps a day across the month. The more steps people take, the more funding Bupa will invest in trusted community partner programs to restore and regenerate urban environments that enable people to thrive.
