“The Rigg Design Prize 2022 [is] one of the first Australian exhibitions to present advertising as a design discipline in its own right; and an exhibition that sets out to reveal and celebrate how crucial creativity is to our future as a society.”
Ewan McEoin

The Rigg Design Prize is the highest accolade for contemporary design in Australia. The ninth edition of the NGV’s Rigg Design Prize presents the creative design work of Australian advertising and creative communications agencies.

Responding to the exhibition theme ‘Creative Potential’ ten of Australia’s top agencies have developed a campaign and suite of creative assets that highlights, clarifies or celebrates the extent to which design and creativity shape who we are and the world we live in.

The finalists invited by the NGV to compete for the $30,000 Prize are: Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, DDB Group Melbourne, Frost* collective, Gilimbaa, Leo Burnett Australia, TBWA\Melbourne, The Royals and Thinkerbell.

Enjoy an exclusive after-hours viewing with an introduction to the exhibition from Ewan McEoin, The Hugh Williamson Senior Curator of Contemporary Design and Architecture and Simone Le Amon, The Hugh Williamson Curator of Contemporary Design.

Recommended for students of advertising, communication, marketing, design and design education.
