Ground Level

Are you a senior interested in learning more about art, design and the NGV? Join our friendly NGV Guides in the Gallery each month for an hour of informal conversation about selected artworks and stay on for a cup of tea in the café to continue the discussion. We would love to hear your perspectives and questions as we engage with ideas, share insights, and discover fascinating layers of culture and history in artworks. No prior art knowledge or experience is required.

In October, experience the Joseph Brown Collection, the most substantial donation of Australian art ever made to a public gallery in Australia. Engage with a wide range of Australian artworks from 1789 to 1996, created by well-known and much-loved artists such as Eugène von Guérard, Aurthur Streeton, Margaret Preston and Grace Cossington-Smith.
