Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons is one of the most visionary and influential fashion designers working today. Her intent has always been ‘to make clothes that didn’t exist before’. Takamasa Takahashi has been generously gifting Comme des Garçons designs to the NGV since 2005.

Starting at the beginning of Kawakubo’s story, see the key moments of her creative journey through the lens of one collector’s profound appreciation of Kawakubo’s work with NGV curator Katie Somerville.
