Take inspiration from the work of Alexander McQueen, one of the most celebrated and significant fashion designers from recent times to enhance classroom teaching and learning. Learn about the creative process, inspiration and innovative techniques of McQueen and practise your textiles skills in a hands-on workshop.

This program begins with an introduction to Alexander McQueen: Mind, Mythos, Muse by Katie Somerville, NGV Senior Curator of Fashion & Textiles, followed by a viewing of the exhibition. Then, join a practical workshop with Melbourne-based artist Scotty So, transforming an ordinary garment into a haute couture-inspired piece, incorporating McQueen’s design vocabulary.

This professional learning program is suitable for teachers of Design and Textiles.
