Spend the day in the Gallery learning about some of the world’s most influential designers of the twentieth century and the key movements that continue to shape and inform design today.
Led by NGV curators of decorative arts and design and facilitated by a specialist NGV educator, throughout the day you will study and discuss significant examples of furniture and objects from the NGV Collection.
The course will take place on Saturday 12 April from 9:30am–4pm.
Lunch will be provided via a voucher to be redeemed onsite at Gallery Kitchen or Tea Room.
WHAT WILL THIS COURSE INVOLVE?
The course will introduce the social and cultural contexts that informed major stylistic developments in the first half of the twentieth century, from the Vienna Secession and Art Nouveau to Frank Lloyd Wright, Marion Mahony and the Bauhaus school.
