Using the NGV to teach is a free online teacher professional learning series introducing opportunities for teaching and learning across the curriculum through works in the NGV Collection.

In June, join NGV Educators to explore opportunities for teaching and learning Japanese language through the NGV’s collection of Japanese art and design. Discover how works of art and design can serve as creative and inspiring engagement points for teaching Japanese language and culture in your classroom. Learn about current and upcoming exhibitions and programs relevant to the teaching and learning of Japanese and explore curriculum-aligned learning resources designed to enhance your teaching practice.

This session is suitable for teachers of all levels, including pre-service teachers.

Learning Objectives:

  • Develop an awareness of the diversity of Japanese art and design represented in the NGV Collection.
  • Build confidence in using art as a resource for teaching Japanese language and culture.
  • Discover opportunities for future learning at the NGV, including professional development and student programs.
