Join NGV during Bupa’s Healthy Cities Challenge for a somatic yoga and meditation session, as part of Reimagining Birrarung: Design Concepts for 2070 with Melbourne-based artist and practitioner Shannon May Powell. This event offers a serene environment to gently move your body and reflect on the Birrarung, from its historical significance to its current state and future possibilities. Led by Shannon May Powell you will immerse yourself in a tranquil atmosphere that encourages contemplation and connection with your mind and body. This event provides a peaceful and reflective way to engage with the reimagined landscapes and the innovative work showcased in the exhibition.

Please note: you are encouraged to bring your own yoga mat and towel.

Founder and co-director of wellbeing organisation Small Beyond, Shannon May Powell (She/They), is a published author, artist and embodiment practitioner of Irish and French settler descent who currently lives and works on sovereign Kulin nation lands (Melbourne, Australia). They believe embodiment is a human right and their practice is person-centred and grounded in creativity, care and liberation.

This program is co-presented by Bupa and the NGV in association with the exhibition Reimagining Birrarung: Design Concepts for 2070.
