Dead heat between Bill Henson, Alex Gillies, Ben Butcher, Raymond Pettibon, Anthony Muia and Arthur Boyd.
What’s your favourite gig you have played to date?
All Good In The Wood in 2012. It was a series of house parties around Collingwood where two bands would play at each house before the mob moved on, marginally ahead of the police…featured the extraordinary talents of Spinning Rooms, Batpiss, Bits of Shit and Deep Heat amongst other equally impressively named acts.
What inspires/influences your music the most?
Raw nerves.
What song do you wish you wrote?
Who By Fire by Leonard Cohen.
What part of making music excites you the most?
The chemistry of people coming together to create a collective noise is the most exciting aspect.
What can a punter expect from your live show?
Slow-grinding, down-beat ballads, interspersed with moments of beauty…and shark projections.
Tell us about the last song you wrote?
The last song we wrote is called Water Runs Cold and it’s about standing in the shower for so long worrying about something that the hot water runs out. It’s uplifting.
What is most exciting thing happening now in the Melbourne Music scene?
More than you can imagine. Go to The Tote, The Old Bar, The John Curtin or the Gasometer and see for yourself. It’s probably the healthiest I have ever seen it and there are so many great bands who are world class without knowing it.
