Georges Seurat was a young artist who grew up in Paris, France over 130 years ago.

He painted people in the city at work and play.

He hoped one of his paintings would be chosen for an exhibition at the famous Paris Salon but this did not happen.

Seurat and other artists started a group to create their own exhibitions.
