Embrace the chill in our winter themed Art Party at NGV International this August. Bring your friends for a night of dancing, workshops, performances and inspiring talks. Unleash your creativity in artist-led activities and explore the Melbourne Winter Masterpieces® exhibition Pharaoh after hours on this night exclusively for teens.

This event is strictly for secondary school-aged students with ID, or a valid secondary school ID or Victorian Student Pass.

DJ Claire Knight knows how to start a party, so prepare to dance the night away in the Great Hall to sets peppered with indie, pop, hip hop and punk from Australia and beyond.

PERFORMANCE BY INDIANA LEWIS

Local singer-songwriter, 15 year old Indiana Lewis takes the stage for the first time at Teen Art Party to showcase her original music. Weaving honest lyrics about feelings big, and small into her mix of indie-pop.

WINTER STYLING STATION
GALLERY KITCHEN
6–8.30pm

Customise your look by creating a winter-themed masquerade mask. Draw inspiration from the frost and chill of the season and use paper, lace and rhinestones to complete your party mask.

DROP BY DRAWING

Draw all night in this gothic-winter themed drawing workshop with Melbourne-based artist Jodie Di Natale. Join a guided drawing session and learn new tips and tricks to hone your drawing skills or drop by any time to create independently. Guided drawing sessions at 6.30 and 7.30pm.

FRIENDSHIP SPEED DATING WITH LADIES OF LEISURE

Meet like-minded people and make new friends in friendship speed dating sessions hosted by creative collective, Ladies of Leisure.

Presented by The University of Melbourne, don’t miss the opportunity to hear from expert Dr. Becky Clifton as she leads tours through Pharaoh looking at themes of spirituality and the afterlife in Ancient Egypt.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Teen Art Party is your night to wear what makes you feel good! Dress up or down or be inspired by our winter wonderland theme.

CAN I BUY FOOD?

A variety of food will be available for you to buy, priced between $5.50–$15, including gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options. Free water stations are located in Gallery Kitchen and the Great Hall. This is a strictly alcohol and drug free event.

Free street parking is available outside the Arts Centre Melbourne on St Kilda Road and paid parking is available at the Arts Centre Melbourne and Australian Ballet Centre.
