Mykelti’s personal exploration commences with numerous mind maps and brainstorms. There are several themes at play, “my personal experience”, “the world around me”, “possible social comment” and “design aspects and the use of materials”.
Exploration and experimentation of personal responses, ideas and concepts throughout artistic practice
Mykelti’s personal exploration commences with numerous mind maps and brainstorms. There are several themes at play, “my personal experience”, “the world around me”, “possible social comment” and “design aspects and the use of materials”.
The exploration and experimentation of personal art responses, ideas and concepts continues with looking at artistic inspiration. Mykelti sources artists that inspire and creates small studies reflecting on these as she journeys towards the synthesis of her concepts and directions.
Experimentation and exploration with materials, techniques, processes and art forms, relevant to personal ideas and concepts, throughout the art process
Throughout the art process Mykelti experiments with, explores and applies a range of materials, techniques and processes relevant to her personal ideas and concepts. She is beginning to experiment with materials, techniques and forms relevant to the personal concepts and ideas in the initial exploration.
We can see evidence of a very high level of sustained experimentation with a variety of materials and techniques throughout the art process. Mykelti is exploring how to best communicate her personal intentions. Throughout her work we see a consistent and accomplished skill level.
Use of Analytical Frameworks that reflects the exploration and development of art works through artistic practice
Throughout her visual diary Mykelti has employed a colour key system to nominate the relevant Analytical Framework. She successfully employs the Frameworks to reflect on her thinking and working practices. Her annotation makes reference, in a highly effective way, to her initial ideas and concepts through to the development towards her final artworks. She has demonstrated a sophisticated level of understanding and application of art terminology.
Use of visual language and manipulation of materials, techniques and processes to develop artworks relevant to the student intentions
Throughout her art process Mykelti trials and selects visual language that best represents her personal conceptual directions. In these pages you can see her employ simple sketches to demonstrate the visual language that best communicates her intentions. Her visual diary shows a sophisticated and consistent use of visual language supported by relevant frameworks and the successful application of materials, techniques and processes.
Resolution of personal ideas and intentions and refinement of the use of materials, techniques and processes relevant to selected art forms and a finished artwork
This photograph shows an image of the finished three-dimensional sculpture. This sculpture is the culmination of Mykelti’s initial exploration and the refinement of her materials, process and techniques. She demonstrates in the development and refinement consistent skill in the handling of her chosen art form. She successfully employs the Analytical Frameworks to support and elaborate on her thinking and working practices throughout the art process.
Exploration, investigation and experimentation of materials, techniques and processes relevant to personal concepts and ideas in selected art form/s
Moving into Unit 4 Mykelti continues the sustained exploration and investigation of her ideas related to the initial concepts from Unit 3. Mykelti again uses a mindmap to revisit her initial ideas and concepts. She then begins to extend and elaborate and continues to develop and refine her art practice.
Use of visual language and artistic practice to refine and realise concepts in at least two finished artworks
We continue to see the innovative use of the art process with reflective annotation to support the development and refinement of Mykelti’s personal concepts. Mykelti continues to acknowledge and select relevant Analytical Frameworks with insightful, critical and creative documentation.
Manipulation of visual language and technical qualities to develop, refine and resolve personal ideas and visual imagery in at least two finished artworks
Throughout the body of work, we see very clear links between the effective use of visual language, materials, techniques and ideas. Photographs and quick visual studies are used to establish the best use of visual language and the communication of personal ideas.
Use of the Analytical Frameworks throughout artistic practice, in reflective and evaluative annotations throughout the art process
Throughout the body of work Mykelti has applied relevant art terminology in reflective documentation. Her annotations underpin her thinking and decision making in the manipulation of art elements and principles throughout the art process. She has consistently applied relevant Analytical Frameworks in the evaluation of her art practice.
