Document and evaluate the Creative Practice using Interpretive Lenses to develop and refine at least one finished artwork responding to the practice of an artist.
Celeste critically evaluates the development of visual language used to communicate ideas and issues and communicates the decisions made.
While Celeste has applied the Analytical Frameworks outlined in the VCE Art Study design, this page shows how appropriate Interpretive Lenses could be used to evaluate the processes used and refinement of the artwork. In this case the Structural Lens could be used to discuss her use of art elements and principles as well as her chosen technique, and how these achieve their intended visual language and communicate the messages and meaning she wishes to convey.
Present a critique to explain the use of the Creative Practice to develop and refine one finished artwork.
Celeste acknowledged the value of feedback from her teacher and peers to identify areas of the artwork that required further refinement. The feedback refers to the refinement of visual language discussing proportions and perspective.
The resolved artwork is presented with a reflective statement. Celeste demonstrated how she created a personal response inspired by the image and ideas explored in another artist’s artwork that they researched. The work does not appropriate the imagery but rather, Celeste developed her personal visual language to successfully communicate similar ideas to those associated with the original researched artwork.
