Michael has researched, collated and documented in his Visual Arts journal the exploration of at least three artist and artworks in specific artforms. He has identified and analysed the connections between the artworks and his ideas. He has also analysed the use of visual language in the artworks.

Experiment with materials techniques and processes in specific artforms to develop subject matter, ideas and visual language.

Michael refers to artistic sources of inspiration when experimenting with materials and techniques to develop subject matter and ideas. Michael documents the process and the development of ideas used by a range Ceramicists. He has documented the characteristics and properties of the materials and how they effectively communicate the artists ideas.

Unit 4 – Outcome 1 – Criterion 7 –

Refine and resolve materials, techniques and processes in at least one finished artwork in a specific art form.

Michael has refined and resolved the use of materials, techniques and processes explored in Unit 3 to make at least one finished artwork in the art form of Ceramics. The artwork has expanded on the artworks completed in Unit 3. In his annotations Michael explains how he further explored techniques and processes in Ceramics.

Unit 4 – Outcome 1 – Criterion 8 –

Document and record artmaking and the refinement and resolution of at least one finished artwork in a specific art form.

Michael has progressively documented and recorded the resolution and refinement using written and visual documentation of at least one finished artwork. He discusses how he has used visual language and techniques to create Ceramic forms that communicate his ideas and subject matter.
