Unit 3 – Outcome 1 – Criterion 1 –

Explore and evaluate artworks, artistic influences and inspiration in specific artforms to develop ideas and visual language.

Nicole has researched, collated and documented in her Visual Arts journal the exploration of two artists and two artworks by each artist in specific artforms. She has analysed the artist’s use of visual language to communicate ideas.

Unit 3 – Outcome 1 – Criterion 2 –

Experiment with materials techniques and processes in specific artforms to develop subject matter, ideas and visual language.

Nicole has explored and experimented with materials, techniques and processes in specific artforms including painting and printmaking. Nicole has developed subject matter and ideas from the exploration of artistic influences, inspiration and personal experiences. She has provided visual and written documentation explaining the development of her ideas from these images.

Nicole has explored and experimented with materials, techniques and processes in specific artforms. Nicole has developed subject matter and ideas from the exploration of artistic influences, inspiration and personal experiences. She has provided visual and written documentation about the development of ideas. She has critically evaluated the materials and techniques she used to create her visual language and individual personal responses in specific artform.

Document, reflect on and evaluate individual art making.

Nicole documents, reflects and evaluates the exploration of her individual art making in the specific art forms of painting and printmaking. She identifies and analyses the connection between ideas and explores materials and techniques, and conceptualises artworks from sources of inspiration. Nicole identifies, analyses and evaluates the characteristics and use of materials, techniques and processes in specific art forms.

Nicole documents, reflects and evaluates the exploration of her individual art making in the specific art forms of painting and printmaking. She identifies and analyses the connection between ideas and explores materials and techniques from sources of inspiration. Nicole identifies, analyses and evaluates the characteristics and use of materials, techniques and processes in specific art forms. She reflects on how she will use the exploration to conceptualise art works.

Nicole has developed two artworks from sources of artistic influences and inspiration. The two artworks demonstrate the use of materials, techniques and processes in printmaking. The artworks also demonstrate her development of subject matter and style based on abstraction. The two artworks demonstrate an understanding of visual language to represent ideas and communicate meaning

Develop and make artworks in specific art forms.

Nicole has developed two artworks from sources of artistic influences and inspiration. The two artworks demonstrate the use of materials, techniques and processes in printmaking. The artworks also demonstrate her development of subject matter and style based on abstraction. The two artworks demonstrate an understanding of visual language to represent ideas and communicate meaning

Unit 4 – Outcome 1 – Criterion 6 –

Extend and resolve ideas explored in Unit 3 in at least one finished artwork in a specific art form.

Nicole synthesises ideas from Unit 3 (first image) and extends and expands on the artwork by refining and resolving subject matter and visual language in printmaking.

Plan the display of one finished artwork in a specific art form.

Nicole is researching and presenting visual documentation of the display of artworks in various exhibition spaces. She considers the representation of subject matter and the communication of ideas and meaning.

Unit 4 – Outcome 2 – Criterion 9 –

Nicole has provided written and visual documentation and the planning for the display of at least one finished artwork. Nicole has presented a plan of the display of at least one artwork in a selected space with some written documentation about lighting, hanging height, spacing and furniture.
