Chana presented her Body of Work in a specific context to communicate ideas and meaning to an audience. She evaluated how the presentation and context of the Body of Work effectively communicates ideas and meaning to a viewer or audience.
Chana considered the format in which she would present her Body of Work to the audience. She presented her documentation in the visual diary that was in chronical order, communicated the approach she took and how she applied the Creative Practice. The documentation accompanied her finished artworks.
In Unit 4 Chana presented one finished artwork that resolved her intentions. The context of this work and how the audience engaged with it was an important consideration for her. Rather than presenting the painting in a traditional context, hanging on a gallery wall, Chana wanted the audience to “interact deeply” with her work. She considered how the presentation of the Body of Work could effectively communicate ideas and meaning to a viewer or audience. She paid attention to symbolism and how she could provide clues to “decode the messages” she wished to convey. She evaluated the presentation of her Body of Work and how she could make it more effective in the way it communicated ideas and meaning to the audience. This was done through the reflective annotations, and it referenced the objects that were added to the presentation after the painting was completed and how these were placed.
The consideration of the artform, which Chana transformed from painting to installation, considered how the audience would engage with the work. She considered how the objects in the installation communicated meaning and increased the interaction of the audience with the artwork. This was evident in her decision to include the documentation, and to use objects of personal significance such as the shoe represented in the painting.
