This week at Friday Nights at Jean Paul Gaultier, Touch Sensitive will take to the stage. Ahead of his performance, we asked him a few questions about art, fashion and music.
Describe your sound in 5 words or less?
That’s a difficult question I think other people are better at describing it but to me it’s slow motion to medium motion house mixed with elements of my surroundings, that’s more than 5, sorry.
If your music was an artwork what would it look like?
Something beautiful and expensive i would hope hahahah.
Who’s your favourite artist/artwork?
I don’t know but I have a few Art Directors Guide to photography books from the late 70’s /80’s that are amazing.
What’s your favourite gig you have played to date?
Probably Listen out last year, I’d just got back from the USA and it was my first show back, although I enjoy every show.
What inspires/influences your music the most?
Could be anything but mostly it’s an emotion and an inspirational sound to begin with or a beat, depends.
What song do you wish you wrote?
The obvious one would be Stardust but the other day Matt Van Schie played me a new Du Tonc track that’s not out yet and it’s only a matter of time before it’s considered a classic, it’s amazing.
What part of making music excites you the most?
When it’s finished and on the internet and or you get a physical copy of it in your hands.
What can a punter expect from your live show?
It’s me Ableton, Maschine, Bass guitar and sometimes a synthesiser. I play my own tracks or remixes i’ve done.
Tell us about the last song you wrote?
I made a track with a guy in america that I’m really excited about, it’s by no means a banger but I think we captured something beautiful and his voice is amazing.
What is the most unique/memorable item of clothing you own?
I have a few items that my uncle who was a tailor and to me the best dressed man in the world made, I’m the same size as him so whenever he was getting rid of stuff I had first dibs.
What was your worst fashion crime?
Don’t know maybe silver and gold at the same timebut even then you can still make that work, personally i don’t see a problem with it but a lot of people do.
What would your dream stage outfit be and who would design it
My uncle made a Gold leather suit in the 80’s, my cousin Michael has a poster photo of him wearing it, i asked him if he still had the patterns and the answer was no but that would be it.
