NGV Teens: Danielle Brustman
What is colour theory in interior design?

Inspired by her installation Coloured in for NGV Triennial, Melbourne interior designer Danielle Brustman leads teens in an interactive online event exploring interior design strategies. Teens can engage in a hands-on design activity and create coloured paper models of furniture.

Danielle Brustman is a designer working with a rich syntax of colour to conceive interiors and furniture that challenge our perception of private and public space. Prior to establishing her interior design studio in 2012, Danielle worked as a theatre designer collaborating with Australia’s most celebrated companies.

Program information
This program for people aged 13 to 18 years was originally presented on Tue 12 Jan, as part of the NGV Teens: What Is series during NGV Kids Summer Festival 2021.

This program includes an art-making demonstration. You may like to create along with the Danielle, we suggest having some art-making materials ready such as lightweight coloured card or coloured paper, scissors, sticky tape, super glue or PVA glue and a small paint brush. Alternatively you can watch, take inspiration and create later.
