Frame

Annette Bezor’s painting, The snake is dead, 1981, (acquired in that year) has a frame carved in meranti by the artist’s friend Alan Neech to a design by Bezor.
The carving takes the form of a snake threaded in and out of the flat panel of the frame.
The frame is used as an adjunct to the image – in part referencing trophy frames as a framing form.
