In this work by Emily Floyd, text is liberated from the page and realised in three dimensions as sculpture. The words ‘Important emerging artist’ appear from a random jumble of letters, enacting the manner in which published commentary on an artist’s work can seemingly lift them up out of the circle of their peers and present them as a figure of talent and potential to be watched closely.
