Born 1980, Melbourne, Victoria; lives and works in Melbourne. Ash Keating has exhibited extensively in Australia since 2004, including at the Monash University Museum of Art, Art Gallery of Ballarat, National Gallery of Australia and Museum of Contemporary Art’s C3West. He has exhibited internationally at Museo de Arte Contemporaneo, Santiago, Chile, 2006; Loop Alternative Artspace and Ssamzie Space, 2008, and Seoul Art Space and Artsonje Centre, 2012, Seoul, South Korea; and the 6th SCAPE Biennial, 2010–11, and Christchurch Art Gallery, 2012, Christchurch, New Zealand. He undertook a residency at ICAN in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, in 2009. His recent awards include the Qantas Foundation Encouragement of Australian Contemporary Art Award, 2011; Substation Contemporary Art Prize, 2012; and the inaugural Guirguis New Art Prize, 2013.
