West Park proposition is a multi-channel video installation documenting a ‘painting performance’ by Ash Keating in which he develops an epic mural – approximately 10 x 50 metres – on the side of a tilt-slab building on the outskirts of Truganina, an industrial area in Melbourne’s west. Wearing a grey hoodie, the video shows Keating throwing and spraying paint, reinventing the bleak concrete structure as an evocative mountainous vista.
