Lyndell Brown, born 1961, Melbourne, Victoria; Charles Green, born 1953, Melbourne, Victoria; live and work in Castlemaine, Victoria. Jon Cattapan, born 1956, Melbourne, Victoria; lives and works in Melbourne. Since 1989, Lyndell Brown and Charles Green have worked in collaboration on more than thirtyfive group exhibitions and over twenty-five solo projects, including The Wire: Lyndell Brown/ Charles Green 2001–2007, Monash Gallery of Art, Melbourne, 2010; and The Dark Wood, ARC ONE Gallery, Melbourne, 2011. In 2007 they travelled through the Middle East and Afghanistan as Official War Artists. Jon Cattapan’s recent solo exhibitions include Perspectives, Australian War Memorial, Canberra, 2010; and Jon Cattapan: New Paintings, Milani Gallery, Brisbane, 2011. In 2006 a retrospective The Drowned World: Jon Cattapan Works and Collaborations was held at the Ian Potter Museum of Art, University of Melbourne. In 2008 Cattapan became Australia’s sixty-third Official War Artist and was deployed to Timor Leste.
