Fiona is a Melbourne based choreographer, performer and movement educator. Fiona’s work is chiefly concerned with discovering and re-discovering ways in which to engage the whole psychophysical self in the processes of generating and performing dance. In recent years her works have covered a diversity of themes including ageing, folk-pop culture, natural disaster, loneliness and the ordinary. Fiona moves between making solo and duet works, and finds that working with other and often dissimilar artists immensely informs and enlivens her solo practice. Fiona predominantly transmits her choreography using written scores and verbal provocations. This was most recently evidenced in her first full-length outdoor performance - Hiatus (2012 Next Wave Festival).
For Melbourne Now Fiona Bryant will be performing a work as part of the February Solo Series.
