Born 1959, Melbourne, Victoria; lives and works in Melbourne. Linda Marrinon studied painting and sculpture at the Victorian College of the Arts from 1978 to 1980 and held her first solo exhibition in 1983. Since 1986, Marrinon has shown extensively at Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery, Sydney, and Tolarno Galleries, Melbourne. She has held two major survey exhibitions, at the Institute of Modern Art, Brisbane, 1987, and the Ian Potter Museum of Art, University of Melbourne, 2001; has undertaken Australia Council studio residencies in Paris, 1991, and New York, 1997; and was a recipient of the Anne & Gordon Samstag International Visual Arts Scholarship, 2001. Let Her Try, a monograph on her work, was published in 2008.
