A painter and sculptor active since the 1980s, Linda Marrinon is well known for her beguiling plaster and cast figures created through an unorthodox approach to formal sculpture. The figures reference the Hellenistic and Roman periods of classical sculpture yet remain quietly contemporary in their poise, scale, adornments and subject matter. Anti-heroic and anti-monumental, the figures presented here – two young siblings, a debutante and a soldier – are a pantheon of unlikely types.
