Louise Paramor

Born 1964, Sydney, New South Wales; lives and works in Melbourne. Louise Paramor received a Bachelor of Fine Art (Painting) from Curtin University, Perth, in 1985 and in 1988 she completed a Postgraduate Diploma (Sculpture) at the Victorian College of the Arts. Paramor has held numerous exhibitions nationally and internationally, including the survey exhibition Louise Paramor: Emporium, Glen Eira City Council Gallery, Melbourne, 2013, and solo exhibitions Lustgarten, Kunstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin, and Schloss Pillnitz, Dresden, Germany, 2000; Classic Shazzy, Stichting Duende Aktiviteiten, Rotterdam, the Netherlands, 2005; Up She Goes, Linden Centre for Contemporary Arts, Melbourne, 2005; and A Bunch of Flowers, Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts, 2006. Paramor has also participated in various group exhibitions, including Primavera, Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, 1998; Papercuts, Monash University Museum of Art, Melbourne, 2003; Mixed Tape, Art Gallery of Western Australia, Perth, 2005; and the Helen Lempriere National Sculpture Award, Melbourne, 2007 and 2008. In 2010 Paramor received the McClelland Award for her sculpture Top Shelf. In 2012 she realised the monumental public sculpture Panorama Stationi for the EastLink/ Peninsula Link freeway sculpture commission.
