Lucy McRae

Born 1979, London, United Kingdom; lives and works in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Lucy McRae trained as a classical ballet dancer and interior designer. Her practice as a ‘Body Architect’ is informed by formative years spent working at Philips Design, where she developed stretchable electronics, an electronic tattoo and a range of emotional sensing dresses, making Time’s Best Inventions 2007. McRae is a TED Fellow; is a Venice Biennale architecture jury member; is listed by Fast Company as one of the ‘fifty people shaping the future’; and was an Advance Global Australian Awards nominee in 2013. In 2012 her short film Morphe was awarded the Best Advertising Prize at A Shaded View On Fashion Film festival at Centre Pompidou, Paris.
