S!X

S!X was established in 1994 by Denise Sprynskyj and Peter Boyd in response to a perceived lack of originality and uncritical Euro centrism then affecting Australian fashion design. Their work combines traditional tailoring, dyeing and fabric manipulation techniques with the practices of recycling and deconstruction.

The design team has been invited to exhibit at numerous national and international exhibitions in Tokyo and Paris including permanent collections at the National Gallery of Victoria, the National Gallery of Australia and the Powerhouse Museum.

S!X were listed as one of Australia’s most innovative designers in The Bulletin’s top 100 people in 2007 and were awarded The Premiers Design Award for Commercial Fashion in 2008.
