Tim is a choreographer and performer. He creates unique perceptual experiences by working within collaborative frameworks specific to each project. His works employ sound, set and lighting design, visual installations and theory, exploring ambiguities and tensions between humorous and melancholic states. Tim graduated from Dance at Queensland University of Technology (2003). Since 2009 he has developed his projects through residencies at Dancehouse, Lucy Guerin Inc. and Chunky Move. In 2012 he presented his first major work More or Less Concrete at Arts House in Melbourne. He recently undertook an Asialink Residency in China and is currently collaborating as a performer on Matthew Day’s MASS (working title) and developing his new work Stampede the Stampede.
For Melbourne Now Tim Darbyshire will be performing the work Horizontal Studies for Two Figures with Matthew Day.
