Since the 1990s, Louise Forthun has used stencil painting to create abstract representations of the urban landscape. Her work for Melbourne Now is one of her largest and most ambitious to date. Bright light is an immersive spatial portrait of Melbourne that interweaves details from an aerial plan of the city with more familiar representation of its landmarks.
