A graduate from Fashion and Textiles at RMIT University, Toni Maticevski established his own label in 1999. Based in Melbourne, the label presents its demi-couture collections here and overseas, and has become well known for a mix of high glamour, sleek tailoring and technical intricacy. For Melbourne Now, Maticevski is suspending a new sculptural work in neoprene, silk and resin in the stairwell of the Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia, allowing closer engagement with the complex construction techniques behind his garments.
