Born 1961, Melbourne, Victoria; lives and works in Melbourne. Stephen Bram graduated from Chisholm Institute of Technology in 1985 and the Victorian College of the Arts in 1987. In 1999 he was awarded the Anne & Gordon Samstag International Visual Arts Scholarship, which enabled him to study at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich, Germany. Bram has held solo exhibitions since 1988, and regularly at Anna Schwartz Gallery since 1993. Recent group exhibitions include Songs of Sirens, Ian Potter Museum of Art, University of Melbourne, 2009; Cubism and Australian Art, Heide Museum of Modern Art, Melbourne, 2010; and Parallel Collisions: 2012 Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art, Art Gallery of South Australia.
