Jon Campbell

Born 1961, Belfast, Northern Ireland; arrived in Australia 1964; lives and works in Melbourne. Jon Campbell is an artist and musician known for his engagement with pop, vernacular and suburban language and iconography. Notable recent projects have included Stacks On, Melbourne Art Foundation Commission, 2010, and just sing what you feel, National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, 2012. Campbell’s work was the subject of a major monograph in 2010 and a survey exhibition, Jon Campbell’s Greatest Hits Vol.1, Glen Eira Art Gallery, Melbourne, 1999. In 2012 he was awarded the Basil Sellers Art Prize for his multi-panel painting Dream team, 2012.

Along with his work in Melbourne Now as a solo artist, he is also participating in Now Hear This as member of Pamela.
