Explore the evolution of Neo-Impressionism in an exhibition never before seen in Australia. Trace the origins of Pointillism, which sought to replace the fluidity of the impressionists' technique with a return to order and form. Discover the dynamic artistic atmosphere of Paris in this period and its influence on Seurat and Signac whose love of modernism drove the innovative approaches that characterise Neo Impressionism including luminous and vibrant painterly effects based on scientific principles of colour.


This lecture can be specifically tailored to suit students of VCE Art, VCE Studio Art and French language and culture.
